Aston Villa have now made a bid to sign £25.3m player who is quicker than Kyle Walker
Aston Villa have now bid to sign a transfer target – although the Villans face competition from Chelsea.
Unai Emery and Monchi – Director of Football at Villa Park – have been working hard to prepare Aston Villa for the UEFA Champions League next season, with eight new signings already made.
Now, Aston Villa have decided to reopen talks for a target – having initially made contact at the end of June…
Aston Villa bid for Maximilian Beier
An update from Florian Plettenburg of Sky Germany now claims that Aston Villa have made a bid to sign TSG Hoffenheim No.14 Maximilian Beier.
The journalist believes Chelsea have also made an offer.
It comes after Plettenburg claimed that Aston Villa first opened talks to sign Beier at the end of June.

The Sky Germany journalist adds that a decision is expected to be made within 14 days, with Bayer Leverkusen also rivalling the Villans for the 21-year-old’s signature along with Chelsea.
Beier has a contract with TSG Hoffenheim until July 2027 – although that deal does include a €30m (£25.3m) release clause.
Unai Emery could sign a rapid forward
Aston Villa are already a threatening team on the counter attack with players like Leon Bailey and Ollie Watkins in the team, although Emery’s side would become even more dangerous in that regard if Beier arrives at Villa Park.
The German was running at a top speed of 35.45kph in the Bundesliga last season, which was even faster than Kyle Walker‘s quickest speed – which was at 35.01kph in the Premier League last term.
As far as many are concerned, the England international – who previously made appearances for Aston Villa – is one of the quickest players around, so it speaks volumes that Beier recorded a considerably faster speed than the Manchester City No.2 last season.

The man from Brandenburg is not just about pace, however. He also scored 16 goals in 33 Bundesliga appearances last term, so he can clearly use his speed to good effect.
