Aston Villa have made a ‘ridiculous’ signing that shows Unai Emery hasn’t let ‘his ego get the better of him’
Aston Villa are flying high at present, sitting pretty in the top four of the Premier League and also shining in the Champions League and Carabao Cup.
The Villans have a perfect record in the Champions League and have only lost once in the league, to title-challenging Arsenal.
Monchi and Unai Emery have proven a dream team at Villa, with the former pulling off multiple coups in the transfer market and the latter getting the best out of them.
Now, talkSPORT pundit Danny Murphy has spoken about a signing the claret-and-blue club has made which has been “just ridiculous”.

Aston Villa signing Morgan Rogers for £15million is ‘just ridiculous’
The player in question is Morgan Rogers, who has been a revelation for Villa since making the move from Middlesbrough in February.
Rogers has been instrumental for the Villans this season, starting all of their games except for the Carabao Cup win over Wycombe.
Both Rogers and Jaden Philogene have come from the Championship, and Murphy suggested Emery would not have known that much about them.
Murphy, speaking on talkSPORT, described the Rogers signing for £15million as “just ridiculous” and praised Emery for trusting in his recruitment team.
“If you think of Philogene, young guy, he was at Hull, he (Emery) can’t have known too much about him,” said Murphy. “He obviously hasn’t worked with him before.
“On the other end of the spectrum, I mean, Rogers is a snip, who got him out of Middlesbrough for that cost is just ridiculous.
“Then he (Emery) wouldn’t have known that much about him playing in the Championship.
“He is trusting other people in recruitment and not letting his ego get the better of him, thinking, I need to do it.”

‘Like watching Jonah Lomu’
Rogers has been an absolute revelation for Villa, whose reported £15million outlay for him has to be one of the bargains of the decade.
“The way he was brushing people away, it was like watching Jonah Lomu,” pundit Jamie Redknapp said on about Rogers’ display against Arsenal.
Rogers is far from the finished product too, and nowhere near his peak, so it’ll be exciting to see how he continues to develop under Emery.
For instance, his decision-making and end product could do with some work, but having some things to work on is expected at 22 years of age.
