Aston Villa fans react as Gabriel Agbonlahor calls time on playing career
Aston Villa’s prodigal son Gabriel Agbonlahor hung his boots up yesterday, ended a career that began in 2005.
Aside from two short-term loans with Watford and Sheffield Wednesday, Agbonlahor spent his entire career at Villa Park.

A popular figure among the supporters, the versatile forward netted 86 goals and claimed 57 assists during his 391 appearances.
It has perhaps come as a surprise that Agbonlahor has decided to call it a day given that he is only 32-years-old.
The academy graduate adhered himself to the club’s supporters, finding a knack of scoring big goals against rivals Birmingham City.
He finished his career with three goals in the second-city derby and retires as a cult hero at Villa Park.
A solid career saw the Birmingham-born performer collect three England caps for his efforts.

Villa have a decent history of nurturing their own players through a renowned academy.
Following Agbonlahor’s decision, they were quick to take to Twitter to congratulate their former player on a solid career.
We rounded up the best tweets from Aston Villa supporters after the announcement was made.
