A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to comment on that Wesley is set to join Club Brugge on loan.
It has been an incredibly difficult time for Wesley since the Villans parted with £22 million in 2019. As noted in the report, the move made him the club’s then-record signing.
Unfortunately, he only scored five goals before his first season was brought to an end due to injury. And he only returned towards the end of the last campaign.
It now seems that he is going to spend the coming year with his former club back in Belgium.
, a loan deal is expected to be finalised in the next 24 to 48 hours.
Interestingly, the report suggests that Villa are keeping their options open when it comes to the Brazilian’s future.
They hope he is a success so he can either return to the fold or see his value increase ahead of a future sale.
For many supporters however, it is extremely difficult to imagine the 24-year-old playing for the club again.
He struggled during his first few months in the Midlands. And he has now fallen right down the pecking order, with Ollie Watkins and Danny Ings since joining the club.
Meanwhile, youngsters such as Cameron Archer are now knocking on the door.

I would have liked to have seen him go to a stronger league ideally but that would require someone from one of those leagues going in for him with a good chance of giving him mins.

Definitely the right move because he’s not likely to figure much and I fear it is the end for him as I’m not sure that he fits the way we play as shown even tonight.

It is absolutely the end for him here. The level of the squad is moving past him. Gotta hope he has a good loan spell so we can recoup some of the investment made.
