Aston Villa fans react to to Louie Barry performance as they reach FA Youth Cup final
Aston Villa’s Under-18s reached the FA Youth Cup final with a win on Friday – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter raved about the performance of their teenager Louie Barry.
Villa beat Midlands rivals West Brom 4-1 yesterday at Villa Park, which sets up a final later this month against Liverpool.
They will be competing in the final of the youth competition for the first time since 2010, and it’s clear there is an extremely talented crop of players developing in the academy right now.
A selection of Villa supporters on social media picked out Barry as a real standout performer for them.
He netted a stunner in the first half with a curled finish into the corner of the net from outside the box.
The 17-year-old attacker has built his reputation up massively since joining back in January 2020.
He’s previously been at the academies of Barcelona and West Brom, but it looks like he’s got a real path to success where he is.
The forward scored back in January on his first-team debut, as he was part of inexperienced team that were bravely beaten 4-1 in the FA Cup against Liverpool.
A couple of fans made comparisons to the versatile attacker with Villa’s club captain Jack Grealish, who is the biggest success story to come out of the academy in a long time.
