Aston Villa fans react to reports concerning Everton’s Cenk Tosun

A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to comment on that Villa could join the race for Everton striker Cenk Tosun.

Villa’s priority for the January transfer window has to be signing a new goalscorer. Wesley is out for the rest of the season due to injury, and Dean Smith does not have many other options to turn to.

that the Villans have enquired about Michy Batshuayi and Olivier Giroud at Chelsea. It is suggested that Batshuayi is unlikely to go anywhere, while there is a question mark surrounding Giroud’s future.

But should they fail in their bid to land Giroud, the Mail suggests that a bid for Tosun could be on the cards. The report notes that Crystal Palace want the Turkey international on loan, and it suggested that Villa could join the race.

Tosun has not enjoyed a good spell since moving to Goodison Park. He has scored just nine Premier League goals, and has made just five top flight appearances this season.

And that perhaps helps explain why plenty of Villa fans have no interest in joining the race for the 28-year-old.

They are not convinced that he is the kind of forward who can ensure that the Villans remain in the top flight this season. And several have urged Smith to avoid making a move for the Everton man this month.
