Aston Villa fans react to Morgan Sanson’s Leeds claim
A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to react to comments from Morgan Sanson made to Canal+ (as per the ) concerning interest in him from Leeds United last summer.
Sanson is currently finding his feet at Villa Park. The 26-year-old has, so far, made four substitute appearances since joining Dean Smith’s men for £16 million in January.

But it appears that he had the opportunity to move to the Premier League much sooner. Sanson has claimed that Leeds were extremely keen to sign him ahead of their top flight return.
“Aston Villa are a big club in England, but it could have been another club the summer before,” he told Canal+ (via ).

“There was Leeds who were very interested, but I felt that was not the time.”
Unsurprisingly, the comments have delighted a lot of Villa supporters on social media. Some have clearly taken a lot of satisfaction from their club succeeding where the Whites apparently failed.
There seems to be no love lost between the two clubs. And of course, they only met in the Premier League at the weekend, with Villa edging the game 1-0 at Elland Road.
Sanson actually came on for the latter stages of the contest. And it appears that plenty of fans are delighted that he was not lining up for the opposition after seemingly being offered the chance to join Leeds a few months before his Villa switch.
With that in mind, here is how some of the Villa supporters reacted to his comments on Leeds’s interest…
