Aston Villa fans react to Kortney Hause display at Chelsea
A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Kortney Hause after his performance against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
What’s the story?
Villa were knocked out of the competition after a spirited performance against the Champions League holders at Stamford Bridge.

Cameron Archer scored his fourth goal in this year’s competition to cancel out Timo Werner’s opener for the home side.
Unfortunately, Chelsea edged the penalty shootout with Reece James booking their spot in the last 16 against Southampton.
But a number of Villa players produced outstanding displays. And for many, Hause was perhaps the best of the lot.
His standout moment surely came when he produced an outrageous sliding challenge to deny Romelu Lukaku inside the penalty area.

, he won more aerial duels than any other player on the pitch. Meanwhile, he also made two successful challenges.
And he managed nine clearances. Remarkably, that left him six clear of any other player on either side.
And several of the fans have suggested that Hause may have been man of the match. They have lauded the way that he never seems to struggle whenever he is brought into the side.
He has only made one substitute appearance in the Premier League so far this season.
‘Needs a new contract’: Aston Villa fans laud Kortney Hause after Carabao Cup display
But following his display against Thomas Tuchel’s side, many have implored Dean Smith to keep him in the team for this weekend’s trip to Manchester United.
With that in mind, here is what some of the fans made of Hause’s performance in the Carabao Cup tie with Chelsea…

I thought Hause was fantastic. He did that brilliant tackle in Lukaku couldn’t see much from the away end, but it looked great.
