Aston Villa fans react on Twitter to Matty Cash’s display
A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Matty Cash’s performance as Dean Smith’s men beat Arsenal 1-0 on Saturday.
The Villans got back to winning ways following their midweek defeat. Ollie Watkins scored inside two minutes to see off the Gunners.

Aston Villa came under plenty of pressure throughout the contest. But the defence produced a colossal performance to keep the visitors at bay.
And Cash certainly played his part in denying Arsenal. The right-back was outstanding throughout the game.

, he won four tackles. He also made two clearances and three interceptions. No player made more interceptions during the game.
It appeared that Cash’s battle with Nicolas Pepe would be crucial. Pepe is playing arguably the best football of his Arsenal career right now.
But Cash dealt with the winger superbly. It is a further reminder of the masterstroke Villa produced in the summer when they spent £16 million to bring him in from Nottingham Forest (via ).
Plenty of Villa fans felt that Cash’s performance was one of the most impressive on another fantastic day for their defence.
With that in mind, here is what some of the supporters made of Cash’s display against the Gunners…
Watkins and Cash – people questioned the price tags as brought from the championship. But what 2 unreal pieces of business they have turned out to be.
