Aston Villa fans react on Twitter to Jacob Ramsey’s display
A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Jacob Ramsey’s display as Dean Smith’s side faced Stoke City in the Carabao Cup on Thursday night.
Unsurprisingly, Smith made a host of changes from the side that thrashed Fulham on Monday night. And Ramsey was one of those to come into the lineup.

The 19-year-old had started in the previous two rounds. And he did come on for the latter stages of the win at Craven Cottage.
Unfortunately, it proved to be a disappointing night for the Villans. Stoke took the lead during the first-half. And Villa failed to get themselves back in the game.

Nevertheless, Ramsey seemed to receive a lot of praise from the fans on social media. Many felt that he was, by far, Villa’s best performer on a poor evening for the Premier League side.
Plenty of supporters suggested that he was often one of the few to look lively against the Potters.
And while he was unable to help Villa find an equaliser, many clearly felt that he staked more of a claim for a chance in the top flight than any of his teammates with his display.
There was also some frustration expressed when he was taken off with just under 20 minutes remaining.
Here is what some of the Villa supporters were saying about Ramsey’s display during and after the tie…
It’s embarrassing for these so called senior players that 19 year old Jacob Ramsey is head and shoulders above them all

Not a fan of Ramsey coming off. Guess it’s the yellow

Guilbert and Traore are doing alright. Taylor is defending well. Ramsey is classy… little bit more needed from Nakamba and Lansbury to match. Davis needs a goal. 3-1 I reckon
— Tom Mcnamee (@T_Mac1987)
No one other than Ramsey come out of that first half with any credit
— AVFC won a game of football! (@andrewstone85)
Ramsey head and shoulders above every player, everyone else appalling
— Proud To Be English and British 🇬🇧 (@r1chuk)
Im sorry but other then Ramsey not a single player has done enough to even make the bench of the first team…
— Brian Meer (@DangeAVFC)
Only Ramsey and Traore looked promising
Lansbury, El Ghazi & Davis are abysmal
— German Villans AVSC (@GermanVillans)
Smith seriously took Ramsey off and left Lansbury on!?
