Aston Villa fans react as they are reportedly leading the race for Liverpool’s Harry Wilson
Aston Villa are reportedly interested in trying to sign attacker Harry Wilson from current Premier League champions Liverpool – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter believe he would be a solid addition for them this summer.
The claims that Dean Smith’s Villa are leading the race to sign the 23-year-old in the summer window, but they are not prepared to meet Liverpool’s asking price.
It is understood that Merseyside giants Liverpool are demanding £20million for the left-footer, but Villa will only bid as high as £12million and are hoping they will drop their price tag.
The report adds that there is also interest from Leeds United, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Southampton in the Wales international.
Wilson managed seven goals last season in the Premier League for Bournemouth, but was unable to help them avoid relegation during his loan spell with them.
The winger is a set-piece specialist that is excellent from free-kicks and corners with his technique, as well as being clever with his movement on the pitch and picking up pockets of space.
He will has quite a way to go to be a top player and needs to try impact games more in open play by being more efficient, but there is certainly plenty of potential.

A selection of Villa supporters on social media believe that the Liverpool wide man could massively help if he does join them in the Midlands.
Here are some Villa fans discussing Wilson:
good player and someone who can consistently deliver good crosses and good set pieces. something we need.

I’d pay that to be honest – or go £18m with various add-ons

I would absolutely take Harry Wilson. Left-footed winger that can cut in from the right? Yes please.
He’d be like the Stewart Downing replacement we never had.
