Aston Villa fans react as report confirms worst fears about injury striker Wesley
Aston Villa striker Wesley could reportedly be out for between six and nine months, following the injury he sustained against Burnley.
The Brazilian was challenged forcefully by Clarets defender Ben Mee in the 71st minute and received lengthy treatment.

Fans had been fearful as to the extent of the damage, it’s very bad news for the South American.
Apparently the former Club Brugge man has torn his posterior cruciate ligament and is set to undergo surgery.
It is a cruel blow for the club’s record signing, who would have been on a high from scoring his first league goal since October earlier in the game.

It’s been a tough start to life at the club for Wesley, who would no doubt have been hoping 2020 could have been a new chapter for him.
Villa fans react
Plenty of Villa fans were dismayed to learn of Wesley’s injury lay-off.
He has rightfully been criticised at times, but the vast majority of Villa supporters were behind Wesley to turn his form around.
The injury has now robbed him of a chance to do that, and his pain was shared by supporters on social media:
Wesley out for 9 months ?
Gutted for the big man. Happens in the same game his Villa career could of been revived.

He scores a pretty good goal, played well & out for 9 months? Typical!!!
Hope he comes back stronger than ever next season.

Hopefully he will make a full recovery, so unlucky for him just as he was starting to shine

He’ll need to wait a few days for the swelling to go down. Horrendous injury. So painful and long, long road, back. Speak from personal experience. Really feel for him.

May not play again if torn ???

If this is true, I’m really saddened by it as I thought he’d started to turn a corner with his confidence and performance. Wonder who the boo boys will pick on next? ?

Gutted for the big fella.

Savage. Get well soon Wes ?

For me he’s been poor during his time so far but I thought against Burnley it was his best performance. He chased down defenders, win the ball back , held it up and even scored . Shame this injury happened just when he was playing the way he was supposed to
