Aston Villa fans react as club reportedly battling Celtic to sign Josh King, following on from Everton release
Josh King’s short stint at Everton has come to an end and the Norwegian attacker is now a free agent. The striker joined Everton only in January, signing a strange six-month deal. But claim Aston Villa, Celtic and Norwich want to sign him – and Villa fans have reacted on Twitter.
The 29-year-old Norway striker ended a long stint at Bournemouth just six months ago to join Everton. But after 11 appearances with the Toffees in which he has failed to score a single goal or register an assist, he is off. Everton confirmed as much, stating that he will be released.
Norwegian outlet VG state he is not short of suitors, though. Expected to play a key role for Norway at Euro 2020, King is said to be a target for Celtic. Those links, though, surfaced with Eddie Howe’s potential arrival – something which is no longer happening. Norwich are also keen.

What do Villa fans think about the potential arrival of King?
It is also reported that Villa are keeping tabs on King, over a potential move. Ollie Watkins clearly remains first choice but Wesley’s future might be in doubt when he finally overcomes an injury. The Brazilian may depart in the search of more regular game time, and Villa would then need back-up.
Villa fans have taken to Twitter to give their verdict on the potential signing of King – and many are seemingly open to his arrival. The majority believe that given he is available for nothing, he would be a low-risk addition as cover for England striker Watkins.
