Aston Villa fans react as club linked with goalkeeper Alex McCarthy
Aston Villa are reportedly rivalling Liverpool for one-time England goalkeeper Alex McCarthy this summer as Southampton look to sell the stopper – and Villa fans are keen to see the ex-Reading star signed.

Jack Butland has long been linked with a move to Villa, as Lovre Kalinic looks set to leave just six months and nine matches after joining the club. French side Nantes are said to bag the Croatia international.
But now it appears that McCarthy could be the man to replace Kalinic, after impressing in a Southampton side that leaked goals last time around. He has three years left on his £50,000-a-week contract ().
Aston Villa fans took to Twitter after hearing of the news their club are taking on Liverpool to land the England goalkeeper, and many are keen to see him sign on the dotted line at Villa Park.
