Aston Villa fans laud performance of £14m man during Under-23 win

Morgan Sanson hasn’t enjoyed an easy start to life at Aston Villa. He checked in during the January transfer window for a fee of . An injury ruined his first few months at Villa Park but last night he stepped up his comeback for the under-23 ranks.

Villa’s young guns took on Wycome Wanderers in the Papa John’s Trophy at Adams Park. It proved a successful night for Sanson. He came through 45 minutes, a planned amount of game time and looked to be unscathed.

Wycombe were beaten 3-1. Connor Parsons oped the scoring for the Chairboys but a brace from Jaden Philogene-Bidace and a goal by Cameron Archer ensured a win for Mark Delaney’s team.

It proved a successful run out for Sanson and he will hope to be in Dean Smith’s thinking sooner rather than later. The Villans added well during the summer and after missing out on lots of football last season, he could be like a new signing.

He was a really key player during his time at Marseille. Villa fought off lots of competition for his signature and he made 157 appearances for the Ligue 1 giants during his time at the club.

He found the net 25 times and claimed 22 assists at Stade Velodrome and it’ll be hoped that he can start weighing in with goals and assists in the Premier League.

The club’s fan base were delighted with the performance of the Frenchman. Plenty believe he can be a big player for the club this season and hope to see him in action soon.

Smith chose not to add a new midfielder to his ranks this summer. That could suggest that Sanson is pencilled in for a starring role. Although he’ll need to prove his fitness first.
