Aston Villa fans frustrated as Martinez and Buendia are released
Aston Villa fans are frustrated after the latest news about Emiliano Martinez and Emiliano Buendia.
According to , the goalkeeper claims the Villans did not know of Brazil’s quarantine rules.
Both players will now fly to Croatia in order to avoid quarantining in a hotel upon arrival in the UK, as reported by .
Neither of the players correctly informed Brazilian officials they were in England prior to their arrival for the World Cup qualifier.
As a result, health officials sought to deport the duo, as well as Tottenham pair Cristian Romero and Giovani Lo Celso.
Officials stormed the pitch just minutes after kick-off when Brazil were taking on Argentina on Sunday. The match was abandoned with La Albiceleste flying home.
Ahead of the clash with Bolivia, the Villa pair have been back to their clubs.
Martinez and Buendia situation is bizarre
The whole situation has spiralled out of control.
Buendia and Martinez should have followed the Brazilian Premier League players.
None of the called up to Tite’s squad flew over for the World Cup qualifiers.
So, it begs a question, why did the Argentine quartet take part?
You feel as though Aston Villa need to fine Martinez and Buendia for flying against club wishes.
It emerged prior to the international break that Premier League clubs agreed no player would fly to red-list countries for duty, i.e. South America.
We have not heard whether the quartet actively went against club orders but, given the agreement, it would be safe to assume.
With reports claiming Tottenham will fine , you feel as though the Midlanders should follow suit.
