Aston Villa fans excited by ‘massive’ Dean Smith’s injury update
Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has delivered a positive injury update on Thursday about Matty Cash – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter are extremely delighted with the news.
Smith has confirmed () that the defender is back in the squad for the upcoming fixture tomorrow.
Villa are currently preparing ahead of Friday night’s trip to Newcastle United in the Premier League.
Cash, 23, has watched from the sidelines the last four consecutive league matches due to his hamstring problem, but is in contention tomorrow.
The £16million () summer signing is available again, so it’ll be interesting if he’s fully fit enough to be back in the XI.
He’s an all-action right-back that has low-key been one of the best signings of last summer across the Premier League, as he’s taken to top-flight football so effortlessly since his arrival from Nottingham Forest.

A selection of Villa supporters on social media believe that Cash’s comeback is vital, albeit captain and playmaker Jack Grealish remains out of action.
The Midlands club will be looking at the Newcastle fixture as one they can improve their recent form, which reads one win, two draws and two defeats in their last five matches.
Cash is a relentless defender that provides a lot of pace and power with his driving runs forward, while defensively he’s aggressive and can fit an organised backline.
