Aston Villa fans criticise Wesley’s performance in 4-1 home defeat against Leicester
Aston Villa were beaten 4-1 at home by a rampant Leicester side at Villa Park yesterday as Jamie Vardy continued his hot streak.
The English striker scored twice as the Foxes won the battle of the Midlands clubs, with Kelechi Iheanacho and Jonny Evans adding the other strikes.
Villa started brightly enough and perhaps the course of the game would have been different if Anwar El Ghazi had scored early on, when he hit the bar with the goal gaping.
But as the game wore on, the hosts got tired and started giving away silly fouls and losing their shape, with goalscorer Jack Grealish the only player making things happen all afternoon.

Vardy’s livewire performance was in stark contrast to that of Wesley, Villa’s big-money summer signing to replace the goals of departed loanee Tammy Abraham, who has torn up the Premier League this season.
He was unable to hold the ball up, or offer a goal threat and many Villa fans on Twitter criticised the Brazilian international in the aftermath of the match.
A reliable goalscorer is imperative to sides battling relegation – and Villa are one of them – and Wesley has shown little evidence so far that he can be that man.
Dean Smith got it badly wrong today. Wesley is atrocious and unless a striker is signed in January there's a good chance we go down. Pathetic effort today. Mings needs dropping too even if he's fit for the next game.

Defence is terrible, wtf is John Terry doing apart from looking at himself? And ya Wesley wasn't the only poor one out there, but jaysus he's bad.

So where was hourihane? Why Luis over him? Why can’t we replace Wesley? Kodjia would do better. Pathetic. Get it right Smith.

A nighmare. Our team-Jack & Heaton aside-were timid and absent. If Smith persists with Wes we are going down. Playing with ten men every week.

I’m sorry but we are going down! In this league you need a striker, we ain’t got one. Not basing that on today, their a great team, I’m basing that on watching us every week
