Aston Villa fans buzzing over ‘absolutely magnificent’ news out of Villa Park
Aston Villa haven’t exactly had the best finish to the season after controversially missing out on the Champions League on the last day of the campaign.
Europa League football now awaits for Aston Villa, and it’s a competition that Unai Emery has excelled in over the years, winning it four times.
Villa must now look towards strengthening their ranks, though there could also be some big departures on the cards – Emi Martinez has been linked with a move away.
One player who won’t be going anywhere is Tyrone Mings, who has now put pen to paper on a contract extension at Villa Park.
Plenty of Villa fans have now had their say on Mings’ contract extension – said to be until 2027 – as they posted their reactions on social media.

Aston Villa fans buzzing as Tyrone Mings extends contract
Mings’ contract extension has gone down immensely well with Villa fans, with one deeming it “absolutely magnificent” news on X.
“The news we all wanted! congratulations Tyrone,” one supporter wrote on the social media platform.
Another said: “Excellent. Our best left-sided centre back. Good thing the club can see that too.”
The praise kept coming, with one fan writing: “Congratulations Tyrone – well deserved and great to see commitment to the club.”
Another said: “Fantastic news, well done all, congrats to Big Ty!”
Another fan longingly speculated: “He’s going to retire with us isn’t he?”

Tyrone Mings’ message to Aston Villa fans after signing contract extension
Mings has been with Villa since 2019, when he joined from Bournemouth for around £20million.
The England international has made 187 appearances for the Villans over the years and has captained the club on multiple occasions.
Mings made 22 appearances in all competitions last term, having missed the previous campaign with a knee injury – he made his return to action in November 2024.
Mings told the Villa after penning his contract extension: “In the time I’ve been at the club we’ve had quite the journey.
“Every player signs for a club hoping they can contribute positively towards something successful and my belief that we can achieve something extra special is stronger than ever.
“I thank the fans, the manager, the staff and the players for their unwavering support both on and off the pitch through one of the toughest periods of my career.”
He then predicted a big 2025/26 campaign, adding: “I’m sure that next season will be our best one yet!”
