Aston Villa could emulate close rivals Wolves with Paulo Fonseca and Jorge Mendes partnership
Aston Villa are currently on the hunt for a new manager after losing patience with Steve Bruce this week. Many names have been mentioned as a potential replacement for the former boss. However, one that has shot up the betting is that of Shakhtar Donetsk manager Paulo Fonseca.
the Portuguese has been made a potential candidate for the role, which Aston Villa want filled by the October 20th game against Swansea City.

The report claims Portuguese super agent Jorge Mendes, who helped facilitate the Andre Moreira and Anwar El-Ghazi transfers this summer, will help in the selection process.
If Aston Villa were to bring in Fonseca it would certainly be an exciting appointment. The 45-year-old is known to enjoy playing exciting football, as anybody who has watched Shakhtar recently would attest to.
With Mendes helping in the transfer market, Aston Villa might be looking to emulate their M6 rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Wolves achieved promotion with Nuno Espirito Santo as manager and with the help of Mendes’ links in the transfer market. They are now looking like potentially establishing themselves in the Premier League top ten this season.
Aston Villa fans will no doubt wish for a carbon-copy result in the next 18 months or so if Fonseca is given the role.
