Aston Villa could be set to cut short ‘highly-rated’ 19-year-old’s loan move in January – journalist

Aston Villa could cut short defender Kaine Kesler-Hayden’s loan spell at Huddersfield Town in January.

Kesler-Hayden is a ‘’ right-back at Villa Park, and is currently out on loan for the third time.

His spells at Swindon Town in League Two and MK Dons in League One last season show his progression.

He made the extra step up to the Championship this season to play for Huddersfield Town.

The Terriers narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League last season, losing the play-off final to Nottingham Forest.

Kesler-Hayden would have been hoping to step into defender Pipa’s place after he left the club in the summer.

However, it hasn’t been going to plan for the 19-year-old recently, having missed out on the last three matchday squads.

Kesler-Hayden’s loan move could be cut short

He’s played seven times for Huddersfield, who have struggled this season and find themselves in the relegation zone.

New manager Mark Fotheringham has preferred playing a back-three in recent games, with Sorba Thomas filling the right wing-back role.

Thomas is one of Huddersfield’s most important players, and is a crucial creative outlet for the Terriers.

Fotheringham’s side have lost their last two matches, and that could force him into a change of personnel.

This may give Kesler-Hayden another chance to prove himself, but time is running out before the World Cup.

Villa have to act in the best interests of their player, and cutting short Kesler-Hayden’s loan move might be the right call.

His Villa teammate Aaron Ramsey is faring better on loan at Norwich this season.

The club will be hoping they can replicate Ramsey’s success with Kesler-Hayden’s next move.
