Aston Villa boss Dean Smith keen on signing another striker this month
Aston Villa boss Dean Smith is reportedly keen on bringing in another striker this month. The Villains pulled off a hugely important late victory against Watford last night. Despite this, the manager is keen to make more moves this month to improve their chances of Premier League survival.
Villa are now sat two points clear of the relegation places but still have a lot of work to do. Wesley’s season-ending injury meant that moves needed to be made and the club has already added Genk striker Mbwana Samatta to their ranks ().

Despite securing the services of the 27-year-old, Villa are keen on doing more business upfront this month. As reported by , Smith said: ”It’s something we’re talking about all the time. Suso [Jesús Vicente García Pitarch Marco] believes the same as well, so it’s something we’re looking for and looking to press on with as well.”
Smith will no doubt be hoping that Samatta can bring some goals to his Villa side, but by signing another striker he is simply doubling his chances of one of them being a success.
TBR view – Villa right to seek more attacking reinforcements

The Villains have simply not scored enough goals this season and there is a risk that Samatta’s move will not pay off. He has scored seven goals in 20 games in the Belgian league but the Premier League is a serious step up.
Smith should consider bringing in a forward with experience in England to help his side get the goals they need to secure top-flight status next season.
