Aston Villa and Unai Emery are clearly seeing the January transfer window as a big opportunity to double-down on their success this season.

As well as seeking departures for players on the periphery of things, it seems as if Emery has also discussed several targets.

Borussia Dortmund’s Giovanni Reyna was named as a potential option for Villa yesterday, a player out of favour at the Bundesliga side.

However, it seems as if Aston Villa’s strongest interest may now lie in the Premier League this month.

It’s certainly no secret that Emery would like to boost Villa’s options up top in the January transfer window.

Ollie Watkins is doing remarkably well, but he can’t shoulder a European and domestic campaign alone.

Jhon Duran is a very capable back up, but he’s perhaps not quite ready to play a starring role for Emery just yet.

And whilst Chelsea want £50m for the striker this month, interested clubs hope that deal could be concluded for less.

Of course, any Villa move for Broja could depend on Duran departing the side, be it on loan or permanently.

AC Milan were said to be interested in a loan move for the Villa youngster in the January transfer window.

And although Duran has some excellent attributes, Broja should prove to be an upgrade.

Perhaps Broja’s pace could be a huge asset for Emery, a striker once considered one of the .

It’ll certainly be interesting to see how Villa make the most of their opportunity this month.
