Not making the same mistake twice

The report states that Roma want to avoid a similar mistake they made with midfielder Steven Nzonzi in 2018.

The Italian giants waited until the end of the World Cup in Russia to sign the then Sevilla midfielder. But after performing well for France as they won the competition, Nzonzi’s valuation inflated.

As per the report, the Gunners are sticking to their €20m price tag for the Swiss international.

Xhaka has been a divided figure at Arsenal ever since his arrival in 2016, and after five years with the club, the Gunners are choosing the right time to part ways with the midfielder.

The north London side are yet to finish in the top-four ever since Xhaka’s arrival, and whilst the midfielder has not been the main cause for this problem, it is a convincing enough coincidence that change is needed in the Arsenal squad.
