Arsenal’s Kai Havertz hailed for what he is able to do even better than Thomas Muller

Arsenal are now heading into the first international break of the season having picked up seven points from a possible nine.

The summer transfer window offered Arsenal with the opportunity to really take the title push to Manchester City.

However, there will be question marks as to whether enough has been done by the north London outfit to finally turn the tables at the top.

Mikel Arteta‘s side were only able to bring in one new forward over the window and that did not come until the final hours of the window.

Raheem Sterling joined Arsenal on a season-long loan deal but there is one other forward who is already impressing over the early stages of the new season.

It is something which Kai Havertz is doing for the Gunners which has really caught the eye with the Germany international up and running in the league.

What Kai Havertz is doing even better than Thomas Muller

For the second time this season, Havertz found the back of the net on the weekend in the draw against Brighton & Hove Albion.

It was another impressive performance from Havertz which saw the Arsenal forward lauded for his showing in north London.

But there have no been suggestions that he’s doing something at a level beyond what his compatriot Thomas Muller was able to do.

According to journalist Rory Smith, Havertz is already showing how much better he is technically than the Bayern Munich legend.

“The player he always reminds me of is Thomas Muller. He is a lot neater than Muller, technically,” he said on [2/9/24].

“Muller is all kind of arms and legs, but it’s that same ability to get into spaces that defenders don’t want you to be in, to ask questions that they are not expecting to have to answer, to cause problems even though they are not kind of the most obvious ones. That’s the sort of player Havertz is.”

Kai Havertz is showing he can lead Arsenal’s front line

There we big questions over the summer as to whether Arsenal had enough going forward in their squad.

Gabriel Jesus has already suffered an injury issue at Arsenal this season and then Eddie Nketiah departed for Crystal Palace.

Arsenal were linked with a potential move for Victor Osimhen over recent weeks but no striker ended up landing in north London.

But with the Havertz firing at the rate in which he is, the German is showing he could be enough for Arsenal to mount another title pursuit.

The only concern may now be if Havertz was to pick up an injury then what it would mean for the Arsenal front line.
