Arsenal will try to sign player Harry Kane called ‘fantastic’ if they can’t get Nico Williams

Arsenal have a ‘Plan B’ if they fail in their pursuit of Nico Williams.

The Gunners could do with reinforcements in attack. Fans have been urging Mikel Arteta to sign a new striker, but a new wide player would solve a lot of problems too.

Spain and Athletic Bilbao star Williams has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, but the North Londoners face some serious competition for his signature.

So, Arsenal are smart and have a backup plan in case they miss out on the Euro 2024 champion.

Arsenal to eye Leroy Sane move if they can’t get Nico Williams

Arsenal need a new wide player this summer.

The Gunners have Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard on the left flank, but Bukayo Saka is the only option on the opposite side.

Yes, Gabriel Jesus can play there, but he isn’t a like-for-like backup for Saka, neither is Reiss Nelson, who is expected to leave the club.

A fast, skilful winger who can guarantee goals and assists could take Arsenal to a whole new level, and Williams would be a great option. claim that he is the Gunners’ first-choice target.

However, reports have revealed that Williams has chosen Barcelona, and if the Catalans can find a way to afford him, it looks like he will be moving to the Camp Nou.

If that happens, Football Transfers claim that Arsenal will try to sign Leroy Sane from Bayern Munich.

The German is not ‘untouchable’ in this window, and it has been revealed that an offer in excess of £40 million could be enough to seal a deal.

The report adds that Sane too could be ‘tempted’ to join Arsenal if an ‘enticing contract’ is offered to him by Arteta and Edu.

Leroy Sane’s huge salary could prove to be a problem for Arsenal

Sane is a terrific player and checks a lot of boxes for Arsenal.

The German, , can play on either wing, is rapid, has Premier League experience and has proven that he can score goals and provide assists on a regular basis.

However, at Arsenal, there’s no way he will displace Saka on the right flank and Martinelli could be ahead of him on the opposite side too.

That means Sane will most likely be a backup at the Emirates, which would make it hard for Arteta to justify paying him huge wages.

Sane currently earns £280,000-a-week at Bayern Munich () – that’s more than every single Arsenal player.

He will likely want a higher salary if he were to move in this window, and we can’t see Arsenal splashing so much cash on a player who will be second choice.
