Report: Arsenal put ‘extraordinary’ 26-year-old on summer shopping list; he could replace Elneny for Arteta

Arsenal have now added another name to their growing list of summer transfer targets, with Hoffenheim midfielder, Florian Grillitsch, now wanted at The Emirates.

Grillitsch, 26, has been a regular fixture for Hoffenheim in recent years and reports how Arsenal have now put the Austrian on their summer shopping list. The midfielder can leave for free this summer after failing to sign a new contract.

As well as Arsenal, Premier League sides Leeds and Everton are thought to be keen, while a host of clubs in Germany and Spain are said to be monitoring his situation as well. Not too long ago, Newcastle also showed an interest in signing the player who Julian Nagelsmann had as ‘extraordinary’ previously.

Arsenal are expected to be in for a busy window once again this summer. Mikel Arteta is keen to add new faces to his squad, even if they don’t manage to reach the top four. A striker, a midfielder, and full backs are all thought to be on the Gunners boss’ radar.

TBR’s View: Grillitsch Is Good Value On A Freebie

Free transfers are always a good idea if the quality is there and Florian Grillitsch looks like a player who is ready to step up in class in his career.

He’s done very well for Hoffenheim but he’s probably ran his race there. A new challenge should suit him, and with Arsenal light in midfield, there is a chance for him to do well in the Premier League should he sign.

Of course, the other interested parties will want their say. But Arsenal can muscle in early here and get a deal done if they want it. On a free transfer, you have to say signing Grillitsch makes plenty of sense.
