Arsenal want to sign £8.5m striker who is his club’s record goalscorer

Mikel Arteta admitted after the north London derby win on Wednesday that Arsenal are exploring the market for attacking reinforcements.

The Spaniard s🌸aid: “For sure, we are going to try on the market and we want to reinforce the attack. We’ve lost two big players, Bukayo for up for three months and Gabriel Jesus will be out for a long time.”

Declan Rice added: “We have lost Gabriel Jesus. I’m sure the manager will look for something, because we had to bring (Kieran) Tierney on left wing. We are a bit꧑ s💫hort there! I’d not be surprised if we do something in the transfer window.”

Saka could even be out until the middle of March – according to Arsenal insider Team News and Ticks.

Now – according to the – Arsenal have added Yoane Wissa to their shortlist as Mikel Arteta aims to bolster his attack.

Arsenal shortlist Yoane Wissa

John Percy of the Telegraph has now claimed that Arsenal are considering a mo🅷ve for the DR Congo international before the February 3rd dea♚dline.

Wissa – who Brentford signed from Lorient for £8.5m back in ꧃August 2021 – has been one of the standout attackers in the Premier League so far this season, scoring 11 goals in 18 appearances while also provid💃ing two assists.

The Arsenal target’s most recent strike came in Tuesday’s 2-2 draw against Manchester City, which saw him become Brentford’s record goalscorer in 🧜the Premier League with 37 goals, overtaking Ivan Toney.

Nottingham Forest are also keen to sign Wissa – who Wolves wanted last summer – and have made the Brentford No.1🐻1 a leading target as Nuno Espirito Santo aims to keep the Reds inside the top four.

Percy adds that the 28-year-old appeals to Arsenal part😼ly because he is capable of playing in any position across the frontline.

Brentford No.11 could be another Leandro Trossard for Mikel Arteta

Some fans might complain th𝄹at Wissa does not offer much longevity as a signing for Arsenal at the age of🐟 28.

However, as Leandro Trossard proved after moving from B𒀰righton at the same age back in January 2023, there is certainly value in signing experienced players who can make an impact 🤪now.

With Arsenal sitting four points behind Liverpool in the Premier League ti♚tle race, Arteta cannot afford to waste any time waiting for ꧃a new attacker to settle in, so Wissa – who is already based in London too – would seemingly be an ideal January addition.
