Arsenal transfer news: Ukrainian manager Groznyi says Mudryk will join the Gunners

Famous Ukrainian manager Vyacheslav Groznyi thinks Arsenal will complete the signing of Mykhaylo Mudryk before the end of the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old Shakhtar Donetsk winger is Mikel Arteta’s priority target this month. The Gunners are trying really hard to sign him, and Fabrizio Romano revealed last night that he’s keen on the move too.

Groznyi, who has managed numerous clubs in Ukraine including Mudryk’s old side Arsenal Kyiv on three different occasions, is confident that the talented winger will be a Gunner before January ends.

Ukrainian manager Groznyi says Mudryk will join the Gunners

Arsenal seem really keen to sign Mudryk this month.

The 22-year-old is a phenomenal talent. He has the potential to become an absolute superstar in the coming years, but if the Gunners do sign him, he will likely be a backup to Gabriel Martinelli on the left flank.

Groznyi, however, believes Arteta will play him right away. The 66-year-old Ukrainian has boldly claimed that there’s nobody at Arsenal who’s stronger than Mudryk at the moment – not even Martinelli, who has been sensational for the North Londoners since the start of this season.

He told : “What can be said here? Mudryk wants to go to Arsenal, and Arteta wants to create a Ukrainian connection Mudryk-Zinchenko on the left flank.

“He will play right away! Now in this position at Arsenal, there is no one stronger than Mudryk.

“No one will ever give €100 million for Mudryk! And do not draw a parallel with Antony here. He played so much for Ajax and proved himself there. And Mudryk is not yet a known footballer – a dark horse for Europe, who shot this season in the Champions League.

“As for the transfer, I think the issue will be resolved at the end of January, and for the amount that Arsenal wants. The price will be quite decent, but far from what Shakhtar wants. The Pitmen can outplay themselves. If Mudryk is not sold to Arsenal now, they will not get such a sum for him again.”

When a club wants a player and the player is desperate for the move, a transfer often goes through. We’re not saying it’s a certainty in Mudryk and Arsenal’s case here, but there is a very good chance.

The 22-year-old, who has scored 10 goals for Shakhtar this season, has constantly been dropping hints about his desire to join the Gunners. From liking posts about transfer links to posting pictures of himself watching Arsenal games on social media, he has done it all.

Mudryk has even publicly admitted that he can’t say no to Arteta if he wants him.

All signs point towards Mudryk joining Arsenal this month, but Edu has to agree a deal with Shakhtar first and that’s proving to be much more difficult than people initially thought.
