The report claims that West Ham are expected to sell the 24-year-old at the end of the season. His contract expires in 2024. And while they have the option to extend that by a further year, it would appear that Rice is not planning to commit anymore of his future to the Irons.

He could cost around £80 million. But The Times suggests that Arsenal are ready to make a big play to secure his signature.

Signing Rice would be a huge statement from Arsenal. The Times notes that Chelsea want him, while Manchester United could also join the race.

He has established himself as one of the leading midfielders in the Premier League. And for many, he appears to be a future England captain.

He is a ‘‘ player. And he is only likely to get even better, particularly if he is playing higher up the Premier League in the near future.

It could be another game-changer for Arsenal if they could bring him to the Emirates.
