Arsenal transfer news: David Luiz may soon get chance to boost Gunners’ hopes of £50m move – TBR View

Arsenal were given encouragement to step up their transfer pursuit of Ben White at the weekend, that Mauricio Pochettino was keen to sign the defender for Paris Saint-Germain.

The Gunners have made it clear that the 23-year-old is a key target. They have reportedly already seen a £40 million bid rejected. And another offer is meant to be on its way.

But of course, interest from PSG is unlikely to do Arsenal many favours.

The Ligue 1 side can offer White Champions League football next season. And it would appear that Pochettino has been an admirer of the Brighton man for some time.

It was noted that Pochettino had received positive reports from Marcelo Bielsa while White was on loan at Leeds.

It remains to be seen if PSG confirm their interest with a bid. But while they are in the running, perhaps Brighton will hold out hope that they can drive the price up. Right now, White’s asking price is .

It would certainly be a boost therefore, if PSG did bow out of the race.

David Luiz could make PSG return in transfer window as Arsenal exit looms

, PSG have joined the race to sign David Luiz. The Brazilian is also being tracked by Rennes and Marseille.

It must be noted that PSG’s interest is as that of their rivals. Neither Pochettino or Leonardo has yet given their backing to such a move.

But if the chance to return to Parc des Princes does come up, Luiz would surely be extremely tempted at this stage of his career.

And if he does join PSG, surely they will be much less interested in signing White this summer.

That would knock one significant rival out of the running for Arsenal.
