In truth, it appears to be a huge surprise to see Kenny linked with the Gunners.
He goes into this summer off the back of a poor loan spell at Celtic. The 24-year-old started brightly. However, he really struggled towards the end of the campaign.
In fairness, it is hard to criticise Kenny too strongly for his time at Parkhead. Celtic were in a bad place when he arrived. And the situation only became more toxic over the rest of the season.
Nevertheless, Everton would surely welcome a bid from Arsenal for the academy graduate over the coming weeks.
It is becoming increasingly difficult to imagine the defender making the grade at Goodison Park. So Arsenal’s reported interest comes as a real surprise.
