Arsenal transfer: Gunners fans react to reports on Granit Xhaka valuation

Arsenal have delivered a resounding message to potential suitors over Granit Xhaka. The Gunners have informed the interested parties that he will only leave for a fee of £17.5 million,

Jose Mourinho is getting his feet under the table at Roma. He has identified the Arsenal midfielder as a potential signing. A solid Euro 2020 has now seen Juventus show interest too.

Xhaka has spent five years at Arsenal. During Mikel Arteta’s tenure at the club, he has rediscovered himself and become a crucial player. Last season, he played 45 games in all competitions, registering two assists.

The Gunners are now eyeing reinforcements though. Ruben Neves is one midfielder who has been linked, with Yves Bissouma is also a long-term target.

Xhaka has just two years remaining on his contract. With that in mind, coupled with the fact that he’s 28, the Gunners clearly feel now is the right time to let him leave.

Theplayer starred at the European Championships. He was part of the team that sent France, the world champions, packing at the round of 16 stage of the competition.

His yellow card in that game saw him banned for the quarter-final. Another penalty shootout saw the Swiss depart the competitions, losing to Spain.

Arsenal fans would like a bigger payment for Xhaka

The Switzerland star has completely won over the majority of his critics. His performances last year were good and plenty think Arsenal are undervaluing him.

Xhaka will need replacing. The Gunners have already seen Dani Ceballos return to Real Madrid, whilst the jury remains out somewhat on Thomas Partey.

Following the news of Arsenal now changing their stance on the type of deal they want, supporters have been reacting.

It seems as though they still think the club could demand more – and even more so after a solid Euro 2020.

Here is what the Arsenal fan base had to say regarding the latest on Xhaka.
