Arsenal transfer: 49-year-old reportedly wants to scupper Arsenal’s hopes of signing PL star; had glowing reports from Bielsa
Arsenal will have to see off competition from Paris Saint-Germain if they hope to sign one of their main transfer targets this summer, .
The Gunners confirmed their interest in Ben White with a £40 million bid this week. However, that offer was rejected.

It was more recently suggested that Arsenal plan to return with a second bid for the 23-year-old. That was set to be worth around £45 million.
However, that Brighton want £50 million for the centre-back. And Arsenal may be about to face some significant competition for his signature.
According to the report, Mauricio Pochettino wants the England international.

The report notes that Pochettino has been an admirer of the Brighton starlet for some time. In fact, he received reports on the defender from Marcelo Bielsa while White was on loan at Leeds.
If Arsenal are prepared to pay £45 million for Ben White, missing out on transfer would be a huge mistake
Some Arsenal fans may have their concerns about parting with such a large sum for White.
The Gunners do not lack centre-back options, and there are other areas of the squad that arguably require more urgent attention.
But White is clearly a huge talent. He won Brighton’s Player of the Season award in his first year in the Premier League.
He forced his way into England’s squad at Euro 2020. And obviously, Arsenal are reportedly prepared to part with £45 million to bring him in.
So if they are prepared to pay so much to get within £5 million of his asking price, surely it would be a huge mistake if they allowed PSG to step in.
White looks to have a frightening amount of potential. He can play on the left or right of the backline. And he can also play in defensive midfield.
Arsenal are clearly huge admirers of his. So they should look to slam the door shut on their potential rivals.
But the concern will be whether they have left it too late.
