Arsenal told why they can beat Manchester City to the Premier League title

Arsenal have been named as favourites for the Premier League next season due to one thing the Gunners have over Manchester City.

The north London side were nothing short of exceptional in the second-half of the league season last campaign, with Mikel Arteta’s side dropping just points in two games in 2024, as City still beat Arsenal to the title.

With the Gunners this week signing Riccardo Calafiori, Arsenal have added to the best defence in the Premier League in a big way, with Mikel Merino now the new main target for the north London side, as the English giants look to strengthen their squad even more.

And pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor has shared why he thinks Arsenal can win the league next season.

2024 Premier League form will push Arsenal to title success next season

Speaking on , the former Aston Villa star suggested that Arsenal’s end-of-season form can carry over into the new campaign, with Agbonlahor tipping the Gunners to be better in all areas of the pitch.

Agbonlahor said when asked why he thinks Arsenal are favourites for the Premier League title: “The reason why they are probably favourites is because let’s look at last season, they only finished two points behind Manchester City.

“People forget that it was tight, it might not have seem tight, but it was. Arsenal scored 91 goals, City 96, Arsenal conceded less than City, 29, City conceded 34, so, you look at those scored and against, and you are like ‘they are scoring goals’, talk about Arsenal needing a striker! Arsenal fans will say no we don’t, we spread the goals around, even though I do think a striker would help them.

“They are not conceding many goals either, and with Calafiori in there as well, he is going to add more stability to that very good back four already there. So, I think Arsenal have got every right to be favourites and they are going to learn every season.”

Arsenal know they can go one better than their success last season

Arsenal were nothing short of brilliant in the Premier League last season, yet as well know, facing City for the title is a task few have ever conquered in this era of the English top-flight.

However, the mood around Arsenal heading into the new campaign is one of optimism and hope, and neutrals are starting to belive that the Gunners have what it takes to finally overthrow City from their throne in the Premier League.

Whilst more signings are needed, Arsenal know that next season will be their best chance of beating their Manchester rivals to the title, and Arteta seems confident that his team can do just that in the upcoming campaign.
