Arsenal target Broja ahead of Martinelli on list of Europe’s best wonderkids

Arsenal have been given encouragement should they decide to pursue a deal for Armando Broja this summer, with the striker one place higher than Gabriel Martinelli on their list of the best under-21 outfield players in Europe.

Broja has been a revelation in the Premier League this term. He joined Southampton on loan from Chelsea, having only made one appearance in the competition for the Blues.

He has scored six times for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side, while he has got nine in all competitions. And while he is currently on a little run without a goal, he does continue to impress for the Saints.

Reports in February claimed that Arsenal are monitoring Broja with Mikel Arteta a big fan of the forward. Of course, the Gunners will have their sights set on at least one new striker this summer.

It has been suggested that Chelsea could demand £58 million for Broja. For many, that asking price may seem incredibly steep.

But perhaps Chelsea are dealing with one of Europe’s best prospects. And that is why they want such a large sum for the Albania international.

, Broja is the 13th best under-21 outfield player in Europe right now. Meanwhile, Martinelli is one place behind him.

And for those who believe that the list may be wide of the mark, it must be noted that the youngster at number one is Bukayo Saka.

Arsenal must look at Broja this summer in hope asking price is nowhere near as high

Broja’s future looks incredibly uncertain. You would imagine that Southampton would love to keep him. And obviously, he is attracting attention from elsewhere.

But Chelsea will surely consider holding onto him. Right now, it is hard to know what will happen to Thomas Tuchel’s men over the coming months. And they may have to consider using Broja next year.

He has been called ‘sensational‘ this season. So Arsenal must put themselves in the mix in the hope that they do not need to pay so much for Broja.

They could be looking at one of the best strikers in Europe in the years to come.
