Arsenal target backed to become ‘one of the best midfielders in Europe’ could cost just £43m
Arsenal have a busy summer on the cards as Mikel Arteta and Edu look to add the finishing touches to their squad.
The Gunners have made great progress in the past few years and took the Premier League title battle to the final day of the 2023/24 season.
However, Arsenal fell just short in the league, so they’ll be eager to bolster their ranks to ensure they can go all the way next year.
The Gunners could look to bolster their midfield ranks amid uncertain futures for the likes of Thomas Partey, Fabio Vieira and Albert Sambi Lokonga.
Now, a report has emerged claiming an Arsenal-linked player backed to become “one of the best midfielders in Europe” could potentially go for as little as £43million.

Negotiations for Arsenal target Georgiy Sudakov set to start at £43million
The player in question is Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Georgiy Sudakov, who is currently at Euro 2024 with Ukraine.
According to , Arsenal are tracking the 21-year-old’s progress, though Tottenham, Liverpool, Chelsea and Napoli are also said to be in pursuit.
Shakhtar are reportedly hoping that Sudakov’s value grows at Euro 2024 and expect at least €50million (£43million), but they’ll try for closer to €65million (£55million).
It is not thought Sudakov will go for anything approaching the €100million (£85million) package that saw Mykhailo Mudryk join Chelsea in January 2023.
Who is Arsenal target Georgiy Sudakov?
Georgiy Sudakov is a 21-year-old midfielder who plies his trade for Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk and the Ukraine national team.
He has come through the ranks at Shakhtar and has made a name for himself as one of their best players and main assets.
Sudakov has made 101 competitive appearances for the club, registering 20 goals and 18 assists. He also has 18 caps for his country.
Back in 2021, Jacek Kulig of likened Sudakov’s style of play to that of Manchester United and Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen.
More recently, described him as a ‘dynamic and attacking central midfielder drawing style of play comparisons to the likes of Luka Modric and Thiago Alcantara.’
Earlier this year, Shakhtar CEO Sergei Palkin told the that Sudakov “will definitely move to a top European club this summer”.
Palkin also believes that the reported Arsenal target “become one of the best in Europe and the world.”
