Arsenal supporters react as Gunners reportedly rivalling Bayern Munich for Nico Elvedi
Arsenal are reportedly battling Bayern Munich for Borussia Monchengladbach defender Nico Elvedi this summer as the Swiss giant continues to shine at the heart of Gladbach’s defence – and Gunners fans have reacted on Twitter.
Despite being just 23 years of age, Elvedi has already clocked up an impressive 158 senior appearances for Gladbach and broken into the national team, earning 17 caps. Certainly, Elvedi is still young but boasts the experience of someone much older.
Such a trait is a rare commodity in today’s market, especially given Elvedi could be available for transfer. Indeed, the former FC Zurich ace has just over a year remaining on his contract and that may see Gladbach open to cashing in on the defender.

Arsenal are interested in signing Elvedi but face competition from German champions Bayern Munich. It is believed a fee in the region of £25million could be enough for Elvedi, who played on Saturday against Frankfurt.
Despite the return of William Saliba and the possible permanent signing of Pablo Mari, Arsenal are likely to be on the lookout for central defenders this season with Shkodran Mustafi, David Luiz and Sokratis all struggling at the Emirates
Arsenal supporters reacted on Twitter to reports that their club wanted to lure Elvedi to the Emirates in the coming months, and many believe he would be a good signing for Mikel Arteta’s side.
OMG!!! Welcome to Arsenal, Nico Elvedi!!! 🙄
