Arsenal should take advantage and sign £65m Barcelona player after financial difficulties hit

After reports that Barcelona would be willing to sell almost any member of their squad this summer, Arsenal should be on red alert.

In truth, it seems as if Edu and his team already are given Arsenal are interested in signing France international Jules Kounde.

Kounde has been playing as right-back for his country at Euro 2024, demonstrating his versatility as a centre-back, which must be appealing to Mikel Arteta.

Should Kounde arrive, he’d likely compete for both William Saliba and Ben White’s spot no easy task.

And given Arsenal have been quoted a price tag of £51m should Barcelona sanction a sale, that money may be better spent.

Although Arsenal need better cover for Saliba, the club’s marquee summer signing should be a central midfielder.

Arteta wants to continue to play Declan Rice as a number eight, explaining why the Gunners should be chasing Frenkie De Jong.

According to , amid their problems with FFP, Barca only consider six players off-limits to a sale: Marc Andre Ter Stegen, Hector Fort, Pau Cubarsi, Gavi, Fermin and Lamine Yamal.

Frenkie De Jong is the only Barcelona player Arsenal should poach this summer

It’s not very often a player of De Jong’s echelon is available, and Arsenal should not be hesitating in their pursuit.

Thomas Partey seems likely to leave Arsenal this summer, and 32-year-old Jorginho doesn’t have the physicality to last a whole season.

And despite how strong the Italian has been at times, Arteta and his team should have much more ambition.

It’s not going to be easy for Arsenal to sign De Jong the admitted that Barcelona are a href="//betvisa-cricket.com/its-irritating-me-barcelona-star-hits-back-amid-tottenham-bid-rumours/">the club of his dreamsafter all.

But amid Barcelona’s financial struggles, Arsenal should definitely be testing the waters.

It seems that it’s got to the point where almost every player has their price, and if Arsenal ever were lucky enough to have a bid accepted for De Jong, the midfielder’s mind could easily change.

Perhaps Arsenal still don’t quite have the pull of the Catalan club, but Arteta’s project is gaining traction all of the time.

And even if he would cost a lot more than the £51m Arsenal were quoted for Kounde, signing De Jong would be a better move.

The 27-year-old is a generational talent and in truth, he hasn’t quite had the right platform to prove it since moving on from Ajax.

That being said, Arsenal have just submitted a £40m bid for a defender who is also considered ‘one the best in the worldâ€?/a>.Â
