Arsenal should be looking to sign ‘special’ Liverpool target who’s already toured the Emirates Stadium

Arsenal are heading for a busy end to the summer transfer window, with both incomings and outgoings expected at the Emirates.

Mikel Merino is now the third signing of the summer for Mikel Arteta after putting pen to paper.

In other news, Eddie Nketiah has agreed personal terms and a contract with Crystal Palace in a deal which could equate to around £30 million.

So, with a bit of money soon back in the transfer kitty, Arsenal have the opportunity to go out and strengthen in the final days of the transfer window.

Liverpool interested in signing Quinten Timber who would be perfect for Arsenal

Liverpool appear to be interested in signing a player who has close ties to Arsenal, and would fit perfectly into Arteta’s system.

have claimed that the Reds are interested in signing Quinten Timber, who’s the twin brother of Arsenal star Jurrien Timber.

The Dutchman currently plays his football over in Holland at Feyenoord, where he’s built up quite the reputation under Arne Slot over the past year or so.

Quinten Timber toured the Emirates and met with Arsenal legend Thierry Henry

With his twin brother operating at the Arsenal, Quinten has spent his fare share of time in north London.

Interestingly, Quinten Timber was spotted on a tour of the Emirates back in January with Thierry Henry, as Jurrien documented it on his Instagram story.

Given his time in north London and the comfort of his own brother, Quinten would have no trouble in settling down in the capital.

Why is Timber the perfect signing for Arsenal?

With Mikel Merino joining, that leaves the Gunners with just four central midfielders.

As we know, the challenges of the Champions League and fighting on all fronts can cause players to pick up unexpected injuries, so there’s always added importance on stocking up well in all areas.

Quinten can operate as a number 6, number 8 and number 10, so he automatically adds extra versatility to the squad.

Martin Odegaard played 48 times in all competitions for the Gunners last season, but Arteta can’t just keep on relying on him to be the creative spark every game as he runs the risk of burning him out. This is where someone like Timber could prove a crucial signing, with eight assists and 10 goals from midfield in the last campaign.

The likes of Declan Rice, Thomas Partey, Jorginho and Merino are all quality players in their own right, but you wouldn’t say many of them offer that extra attacking intent to push on and create.
