🃏And The Sun suggests that both Watkins and Everton talisman Dominic Calvert-Lewin are on the radar.

🌺Watkins has been superb since his £28 million move to Aston Villa. He scored 14 goals in his first year in the Premier League and forced his way into the England side.

🍰And it would appear that he would have the backing of an Arsenal legend if he joined the Gunners in the next 12 months.

🐲Ian Wright outlined just how impressed he was by the 25-year-old after watching him in action against Everton last season.

🏅“Dean Smith has a lot of faith in him. He’s got a lot about him,” Wright told , . “It’s not just his pace, strength and energy. He shows his composure (for his goal).

“He gets in areas where he stretches teams.

ও“He’s constantly causing problems. He’s got a lot.”

Watkins would be the perfect striker for Mikel Arteta at Arsenal

💖Mikel Arteta is yet to silence all of his doubters at the Emirates. But what he does appear to be building is a young side full of hunger.

🌃Players such as Aaron Ramsdale, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Ben White and Albert Sambi Lokonga have complemented the likes of Kieran Tierney, Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka since their arrivals.

ꦉAnd Arsenal now boast a group of players that could make up the spine of an incredibly strong side for years to come.

💎Adding Watkins to those ranks could be a masterstroke. His energy and work-rate gives defenders nightmares.

💖He is certainly not going to come cheap. But if Arsenal are prepared to push the boat out, he could prove to be an inspired signing.
