Arsenal reportedly want ‘fantastic’ £34m-rated ace, fans should be buzzing – TBR View

Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing Atletico Madrid defender Kieran Trippier. Despite his Tottenham affiliation, it’s a signing that has the potential to excite the Gunners fan base.

🌟The right-back featured for England at Euro 2020. He created the goal for Luke Shaw as the Three Lions were beaten on penalties in the final against Italy.

👍Trippier’s club form was impressive last season too. He played 35 times as Los Rojiblancos secured the La Liga title ahead of Real Madrid and Barcelona.

🐬The 30-year-old has been with Atletico for two seasons. He has made 68 appearances and registered 11 assists in Diego Simeone’s team.

What can Trippier offer Arsenal?

♑He’s an experienced performer when it comes to operating in the Premier League. Trippier has made 107 appearances in the top-flight and made 114 appearances in total for Tottenham.

🦩The beauty of signing Trippier is that he would provide a massive upgrade on Arsenal’s other right-back options.

🎉Hector Bellerin is seemingly on the way out, leaving Cedric and Calum Chambers as the right-back options.

ܫArsenal could benefit from better. Trippier gets forward well, has a beauty of a cross and can also operate as a stereotypical right-back or in a right-sided wing-back role.

Would Arsenal fans welcome Trippier?

♉In years gone by Arsenal wouldn’t have dreamed of signing a 30-year-old. Next season, however, European football won’t be on the table and needs must.

𝓡Pochettino previously called the back in 2017 and he’s really kicked on in the years since.

꧙Trippier is a player who would arrive having played for a title-winning side only last season and he’d have to be deemed as a coup.

𝔍Okay, he used to play for Tottenham but if Arsenal fans could get beyond that, they’d see that they’d be signing a decent player.

🍌Trippier is still pretty quick and he gets forward extremely well. Arsenal would certainly benefit from having a player who operates in a similar style to Kieran Tierney but on the other side of the pitch.

ওCreativity has been a real concern for Arsenal and landing Trippier has to be viewed as an exciting signing in the eyes of supporters.
