Arsenal reportedly in talks with player Robert Pires wanted last summer
Arsenal are reportedly in talks to sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot this summer after Maurizio Sarri’s club placed the Frenchman on the transfer list – which will delight Robert Pires, who wanted Rabiot at the Emirates last summer.
Arsenal and Everton are in talks to sign 25-year-old Rabiot, who has already earned six Ligue 1 titles with Paris Saint-Germain. Despite that, he has struggled at Juventus – starting just 16 times this season.
That has seen Juventus place the left-footed midfielder on the transfer list, prompting Arsenal to enter talks for the midfielder. However, the report states Everton are also locked in negotiations for Rabiot – with his asking price set at at least £26million.
Speaking last summer following Aaron Ramsey’s exit, Invincibles legend Pires was as saying that he wanted Rabiot to replace the Welshman at the Emirates. Of course, he has since been Ramsey’s teammate following his free transfer.
“He [Rabiot] would be worth a big fee on the transfer market so the fact he’s free makes it a no brainer,” “If Emery can secure Rabiot then I think he’ll be able to fill the hole that will be left by Ramsey’s departure.”

TBR’s view – Is Rabiot worth signing?
Arsenal certainly need a shake-up in midfield. Matteo Guendouzi and Granit Xhaka have been poor this season, while Dani Ceballos is due to return to Real Madrid and Lucas Torreira wants a return to Serie A.
Thomas Partey has been strongly linked but the club need more cover in the middle of the park, and Rabiot would be an excellent addition. He can dictate the tempo of a match and bring the best out of Mesut Ozil. A no-brainer, as Pires says.
