Arsenal rejected the chance to sign ‘excellent’ Bayern Munich player this summer
Arsenal haven’t been all that busy in this summer transfer window.
The north London club have made just two major signings so far this summer in the shape of Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino.
There has been chat about Arsenal looking for a new attacker, but according to Dean Jones, the Gunners actually rejected the chance to sign a Champions League-winning winger recently.
Speaking on the , Jones stated that Arsenal were offered the chance to sign Kingsley Coman earlier this summer, but they didn’t take the chance to sign the Frenchman.

Arsenal rejected Kingsley Coman opportunity
According to Jones, Arsenal rejected the chance to sign Coman.
“Kingsley Coman has been available, they were offered Coman and they didn’t take it up. Leroy Sane they had a look at across this window, that passed them by as well. Raphinha and Rodrygo, that was interesting, Adingra was linked at one point and Ademola Lookman as the most recent one, but that has been dismissed,” Jones said.
Arsenal should’ve signed Kingsley Coman
Arsenal passed up on the chance to sign Coman from Bayern Munich, but perhaps they should’ve done this deal.
Coman could’ve been exactly the type of player Arsenal need.
He’s a versatile winger who can cover both flanks, while he’s also a proven winner.
Coman has won league title after league title with PSG, Juventus and Bayern Munich, and he’d bring a brilliant level of experience and a true winners’ mentality to the Emirates.
It’s unclear why Arsenal rejected Coman, but one has to hope that the Gunners have another plan in mind as Coman is a brilliant player who could’ve brought so much to this Arsenal team.
The Gunners may live to regret passing up on this signing as Coman is a very talented player who would’ve suited Mikel Arteta’s side to a tee.
Whether or not Arsenal sign a different winger instead of Coman remains to be seen.
