Arsenal player now has the highest pass completion percentage of any player at Euro 2024

An Arsenal player has now recorded the highest pass completion percentage out of anyone who has competed at this summer’s Euros in Germany.

The Gunners have enjoyed a somewhat successful competition with the north London side guaranteed at least one European champions this weekend when David Raya’s Spain take on Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice’s England in Berlin in the final.

With the likes of Kai Havertz and William Saliba winning plaudits throughout the tournament, things have gone well for Arsenal, who also survived Euro 2024 without suffering from a major injury, unlike at the 2022 FIFA World Cup where Gabriel Jesus picked up a knee issue that the striker is still dealing with.

Arsenal and France star William Saliba tops pass completion at Euro 2024

As per , Saliba has the outright highest pass completion at Euro 2024 with a staggering 96.1%, with the Arsenal and France defender completing 346 of his 360 attempted passes for Les Bleus.

With Saliba also ranking 17th in terms of progressive yards covered, it’s not like the 23-year-old centre-back is passing sideways and backward consistently, with the defender ranking higher than Rice and even former Arsenal star Granit Xhaka.

Indeed, this summer has been a big one for Saliba, who after an incredible season at Arsenal has now finally made a name for himself on the internationals stage with France after spending the last few years being unused by Didier Deschamps.

However, this Euros has changed all of that for Saliba, who successfully replaced Ibrahima Konate in the starting XI and showed the world why he should be considered as one of the best defenders on the planet right now.

Saliba has been Arsenal’s biggest winner at the Euros

Arsenal had 11 players head to the Euros this summer, and whilst there have been some notable highs from the likes of Saka and Havertz, it’s hard to look past Saliba as the Gunners’ biggest winner at the competition.

The defender managed to finally convince Deschamps that he was worth starting for France in central defence, and in doing so became arguably Les Bleus’ best-performing player at Euro 2024.

At 23-years-old, Saliba is set for a long and successful career on the international stage, and this summer’s Euros will be viewed as the catalyst for where the Arsenal defender finally got his start for France.
