Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke to cash in from world-record £5.3bn business deal
Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke is set to cash in from a historic business deal in the United States.
Kroenke’s KSE media and sports group encompasses nine sports teams in total, with Arsenal the only European outpost of the 76-year-old’s empire.
His ownership style has proved controversial in the US, where he relocated his NFL Rams franchise from his hometown of St Louis to Los Angeles.

However, there is no disputing his business credentials and his ability to extract cash from his teams’ brands.
And while he is taking more of a backseat role at the Emirates with son Josh handed operational responsibility, the latest new from the US proves his eye for a shrewd investment is as sharp as ever.
Kroenke set for windfall as record NBA deal struck
One of Kroenke‘s blue-chip investments is his basketball franchise Denver Nuggets, NBA champions in 2023.
As relayed by , the Nuggets are set to be one of the beneficiaries of the NBA’s staggering new 11-year TV deal worth £58bn, or around £5.3bn per year.
The deal, which is a world record for any sports broadcast or streaming agreement, has been agreed with Comcast, NBC, Amazon and ESPN.
For context, the Premier League’s domestic TV deal from which Arsenal benefit is worth around £1.6bn per season.

TBR Analysis: How will the new NBA deal benefit Arsenal?
While the NBA deal will not directly lift Arsenal’s finances, the flourishing of Kroenke’s wider sports empire can only benefit them.
The deal brings security and enhanced cash flow for the Nuggets and, by extension, the whole of the Missouri-born billionaire’s investment portfolio.
Arsenal have not yet followed Liverpool in releasing basketball merchandise but this development once again proves that they have the lucrative ability to do so.

Any commercial link-up would also raise Arsenal’s profile in the United States, giving them more leverage in negotiations with sponsors.
And with Mikel Arteta‘s side set to visit the US in pre-season ahead of 2024-25, Arsenal can continue to attract big audiences across the pond.
