Arsenal now willing to sell player Ian Wright called ‘fantastic’ for £24m this summer

Arsenal are willing to sell Aaron Ramsdale this summer – and have a price in mind for the goalkeeper.

That is according to the Telegraph.

So, what is the latest on Aaron Ramsdale at Arsenal? Let’s take a look…

Aaron Ramsdale update

Well – according to – the England international is expected to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer after losing his place to David Raya.

Now, the have shared what sort of figure Arsenal may accept for Ramsdale.

It is said that the Gunners – at least – want to recoup the they spent to sign the glovesman from Sheffield United back in August 2021.

That is more than fair, given the fact Ramsdale has since been named in the PFA Team of the Year while also winning caps for England.

The Arsenal No.1 has made just Premier League starts this season following the arrival of Raya, although Mikel Arteta has admitted that he remains delighted with the 25-year-old.

Arsenal can demand more

In our view, Edu risks a fan backlash if he sells Ramsdale for just £24m.

To put into context how low a fee that is nowadays for a top goalkeeper, Chelsea spent to sign Robert Sanchez from Brighton back in August, who was third choice at Brighton and has since been dislodged by Đorđe Petrović.

Another example would be the Chelsea spent on Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Therefore, Arsenal would genuinely be well within their rights to demand at least £40m for Ramsdale – who Ian Wright called “fantastic” – given his status as a full England international who actually did very little wrong to lose his spot.

Ultimately, there is also the matter of not pricing the Englishman out of a move and respecting his wishes, should he ask to leave in favour of regular playing time again.

Clearly, Arteta has a lot to think about when it comes to Ramsdale – who could make his final appearance for Arsenal this Saturday.
