Arsenal now ready to make move for ‘exceptional’ £40m Manchester City player – on one condition
Arsenal are ready to make a move for one Manchester City player this summer – but on one condition.
Mikel Arteta has not been afraid to use his contacts at the Etihad Stadium when it comes to making signings at the Emirates. Of course, both Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko have moved to Arsenal in the last couple of years.
And it appears that the pair may not be the last to make the move on Arteta’s watch.
One player who appears to have no future at Manchester City is Joao Cancelo. The defender is currently out on loan at Barcelona. He had previously been loaned out to Bayern Munich after falling out with Pep Guardiola.
Arsenal could make a summer move for Joao Cancelo
Arsenal attempted to sign Cancelo last summer. But he ended up in Catalonia. He has gone on to make 32 appearances across La Liga and the Champions League for Xavi’s side.

According to (24/3; page 61), Barcelona have the option to make Cancelo’s move permanent for £40 million. However, Barca want to spend no more than a loan fee for another season on the Portuguese.
And with that, Arsenal are on alert.
The report claims that the Gunners will be ready to make a move of their own if Barcelona do not sign Cancelo permanently. And the full-back may be tempted by the chance to move to the Emirates.
Manchester City face a dilemma if Gunners come calling
Cancelo has played in both full-back roles this season. So he has the versatility almost every member of Arsenal’s backline possesses.
Obviously, Ben White has been exceptional on the right this season. Left-back has been slightly more problematic in recent months, with Zinchenko not quite kicking on this year.
Cancelo is an ‘‘ player, who has proven himself in the Premier League and the Champions League. He won three league titles with City.
And if Guardiola has written him off and Barcelona are unable to keep him, City may be open to doing a deal with Arsenal – even if the pair are now very much title rivals at the top of the Premier League.
