Arsenal need potential bargain Fornals more than transfer rivals Tottenham
Arsenal are preparing to battle bitter local rivals Tottenham Hotspur for Villarreal playmaker Pablo Fornals in the summer transfer window, according to the Sunday People, Sunday 10/03, page 53.
They report that Gunners boss Unai Emery is increasingly keen on his fellow Spaniard, as he looks for a replacement for Welsh international Aaron Ramsey, who is set to move to Juventus in the summer.
But across town Tottenham are also interested in the midfielder, who last month has a 25m euro (£21.6m) release clause in his contract.
That could be something of a bargain for a 23-year-old, who is beginning to make a name for himself this term.

last month that Emery will have a relatively small transfer budget of just £45m to work with during the summer and that financial constraint is exacerbated by the fact that Ramsey will be leaving for free.
So the chance to get Fornals on a reasonably cheap deal should appeal to Emery far more than Mauricio Pochettino, who has no obvious spot in his squad for the midfielder.
He would be useful cover for a squad that has struggled with fatigue and injuries this season, but in terms of him getting into a first-choice Spurs side, the chances look slim.
So Arsenal cannot allow their bitter rivals to get the better of them in the race for the Spaniard, if Emery is serious about improving his squad this summer.
