Arsenal must rival Spurs for Sam Johnstone amid contract reports
Arsenal look set to be on the lookout for a new goalkeeper next summer, that Bernd Leno could leave ahead of the final year of his contract.
Leno lost his place to Aaron Ramsdale at the weekend. And if that is a sign of what is to come this season, it surely makes sense for all parties for the 29-year-old to be moved on.

But obviously, it would therefore become imperative that the Gunners landed a replacement.
They have been linked with Andre Onana in recent times. But it was also reported over the summer that Arsenal had made an enquiry for West Bromwich Albion star Sam Johnstone.
Johnstone was a shining light for the Baggies as they suffered relegation from the top flight.
They managed to hold onto the England international over the summer, however. But there remains a lot of uncertainty over his long-term future.

that he has stalled on signing a new deal. His current terms at the Hawthorns expire next year. But it is suggested that he wants to concentrate on West Brom’s promotion push.
That has alerted Spurs.
And amid reports that Leno could be leaving, Arsenal must surely keep themselves in the race.
Arsenal reigniting Johnstone interest looks to be no-brainer as Leno reports emerge
If Ramsdale is undisputed number one this season, Mikel Arteta does not need to use a large portion of his budget on signing a new goalkeeper.
So Johnstone could be absolutely perfect.
He is proven in the Premier League and he could cost absolutely nothing.
If is set to become a free agent, it is surely a no-brainer for the Gunners.
